March 12 It's been sooo long....It has been sooo long since I've blogged on here that I know I'm disqualified for the "prize" but when I was logging in at least once a week, I seemed to be doing better on my goal for the year so I've made a committment to myself...I've got to do 2 things...workout and stay connected with this great community of people that have come together for a common goal. Then...I've got to get my butt moving because I have only about 9 months before my big trip to see some old friends and CANNOT go looking like I do today...and feeling like I do today. Now...like Jilian said last night...sleeping is very important to weight loss so I'm off to bed! Have a great night! February 02 Better..It was much better this week but I only lost .2. I guess a loss is a loss no matter how small. Mom has been doing great and I've got to post her progress but she's had some ups too...I'm not the only one falling off the wagon! I got all my biggest loser workout DVD's in this week so I'm very excited to get started on those. I think mom and I are going to trade off each couple of nights so neither one of us really plateau. Also, I've got something to work towards now. My ex-boyfriend (and a really good friend) and his wife and getting married (well...really renewing their vows) in January 2009 so I've got to be in better shape before I go see the old friends. I haven't seen them in 9 years so I'm very excited to see them but definitely don't want to go out there nearly 80 lbs heavier than the last time I saw them....and I'm trying to get my hubby on board too since they've never met him!
Hope all is going well with everyone else! Good luck this next week! January 26 Bad Week?Have you had a bad week yet? I hit mine this week. I've not done as well with the diet and excercise and it shows. I gained a pound this week!!!! Seeing that gain was so hard and really...it shouldn't have been. I know that I've not done what I needed to in order to drop the weight but it still hurt...who knows....maybe that's what I needed...a real kick in the butt. I'm awaiting the arrival of my Biggest Loser workout videos sometime this week and I'm so excited to get started with those. I'll post as soon as I have them and try em out. I've heard all good reviews so far! January 19 An OK dayWell today was ok...I started out FANTASTIC! When I got up this morning, I did my Tae Bo video that I've had for years and have never used. It had me winded but I'm going to keep working on it and then maybe move on to the advanced lesson! Well...then we went to my son's soccer game and afterwards...Olive Garden for lunch...eeek! I love the soup, salad, and breadsticks so that's what we had...but it was the pasta fagiol (sp?) soup and I didn't stop after 1 bowl...I know...shame on me. I was so uncomfortable after we left that it was hard to sit up. We did go to Costco after that so I walked off some of my lunch but then raviolis for dinner...bad choice. For dessert, I did good...I had a "power orange." We got them at Costco today. They're called Cara Cara oranges by Sunkist and according to Weight Watchers...they're only 1 point...so really not bad for a dessert and it was sooo good!
I'm doing laundry and dishes tonight before bed so that will mean several trips up and down the stairs...yay (can you hear the excitement in my voice?)...and then tomorrow...a clean start. I'm going to do my Tae Bo video again and then maybe go for a walk.
This week will be better than last!!
Christy January 15 Urgh!OMG...I can't believe I haven't blogged in 10 days! It has been on crazy ride so far and right now...I'm not feeling so confident. Last week I lost 2 pounds and this week I gained 2 pounds...it would help if I had a bit more discipline but like I said...this week has been one crazy ride. Mom lost 4 pounds last week...go her!!! I'm so proud of her. She's sticking to her guns, eating well, exercising...I really have to get it together this week and step up or I'm not going to hit my goal...and I can't let that happen. My goal is 38 pounds. That will put me below 200..which I haven't been in over 6 years so I'm ready for it.
I'll try to log-on and post more after The Biggest Loser is over tonight..I love this show!!!
Christy January 05 Tired...very tiredMy husband and I went out last night for our anniversary and the show was nice but dinner...not so good. We didn't have time to eat before the show so we ate after and it was extremely late...which I know is not good for me. So we finally got home and in bed about 1am and today I have been absoultely exhausted. I'm getting ready to go to bed so I can get up and start tomorrow again...fresh and back on track. I think I'll start my day off with a walk first thing in the morning before church...maybe that will help get me off to a good start.
Well...good night! January 04 Small StepsYay!!! I've completed 2 days without having 1 soda...that's huge for me!!! I've mostly drank water, lots of water but have had an occasional iced tea. My eating was not so good yesterday but it wasn't completely horrible either. Today has been a much better day for food but my hubby and I are going out for our anniversary so that'll be a big challenge.
I'll have more updates later! January 02 1st BlogOk...so this is my first blog ever! Just got the site up and I think I did pretty good considering I've never done this before. Now...down to business.
My mom and I have struggled with our weight almost all of our lives and we've recently decided we were going to take charge of it and get healthy so we can be around to see the kids (grandkids for my mom) grow up. It's also important to set a good example for them on how to eat properly and get exercise regularly...not just when you've forgotten something upstairs and have to run up and down them 3 times before you're finally able to leave the house!
A big part of our plan is going to be walking, almost jogging, to keep up with my son who just got a bike, rollerblades, and a skateboard for Christmas. My mom also is an aqua aerobics instructor so we'll be doing some classes to mix it up. We also tend to do our grocery shopping together which has been very effective in the past as we tend to tell each other what we should and should not buy. We love to watch The Biggest Loser together...most of the time at our own houses but still watching together. The best thing is the we live literally less than 2 blocks away so motivation and encouragement is never far away!
We should win this contest so we can be at The Biggest Loser Couples Finale because we are both HUGE fans. I became a fan during the very 1st season and mom just really started watching with season 4 but it would be amazing to be there for the Finale and maybe get to meet Bob, Jillian, and the contestants, who are truly inspirational.
